Requirements

What the 190 asks of you.

State criteria change through the year as programs open, fill and close. We monitor state and territory program settings as they change.

Skills Occupation

A skilled occupation and assessment

Your occupation must be on the 190 lists, which reach wider than the 189, and in demand with at least one state or territory, with a positive skills assessment behind it.

State Nomination

A state or territory nomination

Each state runs its own program with its own occupation lists, thresholds and commitments, typically including a two-year settlement expectation. Choosing where to seek nomination is a strategy decision, and we make it with you.

65+ Points

A competitive points claim

The 65-point floor applies, and nomination adds points to your score. Invitations still follow your ranking.

Checks Standards

Health, character and English

At least competent English at invitation, plus the standard health and character checks for everyone included.
